Fitness & Confidence Sessions
Building Confidence Beyond the Classroom
At More Than Words Tuition, we believe that children and young people learn best when they feel confident, motivated and successful. While academic support is at the heart of what we do, we recognise that some learners thrive when movement becomes part of their journey.
For some learners, confidence is built just as much through movement and achievement as it is through academic success. By combining specialist educational support with confidence-building fitness sessions, we help them discover their strengths, stay motivated and develop the resilience to succeed both academically and personally.
For those experiencing low confidence, reduced motivation or barriers to learning, physical activity can provide a positive outlet to experience success, develop resilience and build self-belief. For some learners with SEN or additional learning needs, structured movement may also help improve focus, emotional regulation and readiness to engage with learning.
Rather than viewing fitness as separate from education, we see it as another way of supporting the whole child. Our confidence-building fitness sessions can complement tuition by providing opportunities to achieve personal goals, celebrate progress and develop a positive attitude towards challenge.
Sessions are designed to develop:
Physical fitness – improving strength, stamina and overall health.
Coordination and movement skills – developing balance, agility, speed and body awareness.
Confidence and self-esteem – encouraging learners to challenge themselves, celebrate achievements and believe in their abilities.
Resilience and perseverance – learning that progress comes through practice, patience and determination.
Teamwork and communication – developing positive social skills through cooperative activities.
Healthy lifestyle habits – encouraging lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
Activities are tailored to each learner's age, interests and abilities and may include games, functional movement, agility drills, balance and coordination activities, strength development and age-appropriate plyometric exercises, where suitable.
Plyometric activities, such as jumping, hopping and bounding exercises, can help improve explosive power, coordination, balance, agility and movement efficiency while encouraging children to develop confidence in their physical abilities. All activities are introduced progressively and delivered safely by a qualified children's fitness coach.
Every session is delivered in a supportive, encouraging environment where learners can experience success, enjoy being active and develop confidence that extends beyond sport and into everyday life.
Our confidence-building fitness sessions are delivered by our qualified children's fitness coach through our partnership with Zucapowerfit, allowing us to offer a holistic approach that supports children's academic progress, wellbeing and physical confidence.
