Dyslexia Assessments
What is a dyslexia assessment?
A dyslexia assessment is a comprehensive evaluation that explores how a child learns, identifying strengths as well as areas where additional support may be needed.
Who carries out the assessment?
Assessments are completed by a qualified specialist teacher and dyslexia assessor with postgraduate qualifications in teaching and assessing learners with dyslexia.
What does the assessment include?
The assessment explores areas such as:

Cognitive strengths
How long does the assessment take?
Assessments usually take around 3–4 hours, including breaks where needed.
What will I receive afterwards?
You will receive:
A comprehensive diagnostic report
A detailed explanation of the findings
Personalised recommendations for home and school
Guidance on appropriate next steps
Can schools use the report?
Yes. The report provides practical recommendations that can help schools better understand and support your child's learning needs.
Fitness & Confidence Sessions
Why do you offer fitness sessions alongside tuition?
We believe children learn best when they feel confident, motivated and emotionally supported. Physical activity helps many children develop resilience, improve self-esteem and experience success beyond the classroom. For some learners, especially those with SEN or additional learning needs, movement can also support focus, motivation and emotional regulation.
Who are the fitness sessions for?
Our sessions are suitable for children and young people of all abilities. Whether your child enjoys sport, lacks confidence in physical activity or simply benefits from learning through movement, every programme is tailored to their individual needs.
Do children need to be sporty?
Not at all. Sessions are designed to be enjoyable, inclusive and encouraging. The aim is to help every child feel successful, regardless of their starting point.
What happens during a fitness session?
Sessions are tailored to each child's age, interests and goals and may include:
Fun fitness games
Coordination and balance activities
Agility and speed exercises
Strength and conditioning
Functional movement skills
Teamwork challenges
Sports-specific training (where appropriate)
Age-appropriate plyometric exercises
Goal setting and confidence-building activities
Every session focuses on enjoyment, achievement and personal progress.
How can fitness help my child's learning?
Research shows that regular physical activity can support concentration, emotional wellbeing and confidence. Many children return to learning feeling calmer, more motivated and ready to engage.
Can fitness sessions be combined with tuition?
Yes. Many families choose to combine tuition with fitness sessions as part of a balanced programme that supports both learning and wellbeing. For some children, a fitness session provides a positive way to celebrate progress, build confidence and stay motivated.
Can fitness sessions improve confidence?
Yes. We focus on personal achievement rather than competition. As children develop new skills and reach their own goals, they often become more confident both physically and academically.
Are sessions one-to-one or in groups?
We offer both one-to-one and small group sessions, depending on the child's needs and goals.
Who delivers the fitness sessions?
Sessions are delivered by a qualified children's fitness coach with experience supporting children of different ages, abilities and confidence levels.
